I love how much story this show tells with the little details. What a nice episode to learn about Anne and Grea's first meeting. The background music in this show is so nice, I can't wait for the first nice rainy day where I can open the windows and listen to it on the couch. Maybe when I get a bit better at playing piano I'll try to play some of them, but they seem a bit out of my reach right now.

Thanks for reading my gushing, I hope it wasn't a bother.

Listening during a nice morning rainstorm in my pajamas while making tea before work

Don't forget to practice for 15 minutes everyday before work.

Which nice anime song you learn recently???

 No.30993

I spent all night trying to learn to play this on piano and I'm still not even close. I don't understand how people can play with both hands. I really want to learn to play this though, so I guess I will just keep trying.

how are you learning it? are you reading sheets?

is it the second half that is tricky for you?
play really slowly and keep practicing.

I can't read sheets, but I recreated the whole piece in fl studio to make it easier to learn, and I separated it into two parts for each hand. Once I'm more comfortable with it, I think I might even put my own spin on it.
I've never played a two-handed piece before (usually I just play simple melodies with one hand), so the whole thing is really hard for me. I know what each hand is supposed to play, but when I try to play both parts at the same time, my brain either completely freezes or I start playing the same thing with both hands.

do you have a keyboard you play with?

Yeah, a midi keyboard.

This one has a midi of the piece that you can you use if you want, under xenogears at the bottom: http://chaosinacan.com/music/sheets/

If I wasn't really using sheets and I learnt each hand separately, I always combined them by slowing right down to just one beat at a time and make sure both my handos are doing the right thing on each beat and then practice it really slowly like that until the whole song becomes muscle memory, and then I can speed it up a tiny bit and practice again and again and eventually I play at a comfortable speed I like.

But some of them are harder to do that with than others. There were a lots of pieces that I could play beginning to end with my right hand and same with the left hand but i couldn't combine them and i gave up. So sometimes maybe you have to try learning it a different way and that might help! Maybe you could look at getting software like Synthesia to help. Or maybe learning to read the sheet music and printing it out and then you can scribble on it to help you. You can learn the pitches with cute mnemonics like "Good Boys Deserve Fruit" and then you can write on the paper if it helps!

thats really cool! playing the piano always looked fun and i want to eventually try to learn someday. I used to play guitar but at some point everybody else who was around me who also played guitar got really really competitive. It went from having fun playing music with friends to everybody constantly trying to show off and one up each other, so i stopped because it was no fun anymore

Thank you for the tips and the midi! All I could find was the regular music box version, so it's nice to see the Myth piano arrangement in midi form.

I'm definitely having fun so far, even though I'm struggling with the whole two-handed thing. Guitar seems fun too, I've tried it before and it felt pretty different, but I want to learn it someday as well.

this is why you should only ever play things for yourself and never ever let anyone ever ever listen to it ever.

I still can't play both hands very well but thankfully I know all treble clef stuff from the instrument I learned in high school. It's the bass clef which kinda throws me off so I have to be super careful about it and its hard letting my eyes zoom out so I can read both lines for each hand and keep track of them...

Which is a long roundabout way of saying I still can't play any nice piano songs...

 No.31011

This is one of the first anime girls I learn on the piano. I picked it because I like it and is very slow and nice and is very simple and it help me time the beats and coordinate my hands together and it's possible to play it even slower than it already is and it still won't sound too bad. The first half of it can be repeated easily too so I used to play the first half over and over for like 5-10 minutes at a time just practicing the same section but it kinda fit the structure of the song anyway and then I'd do the denouement.

I don't want to explicitly recommend learning a specific song that you might not like, but I think if it feels like you aren't seeing much progress in the same song even after practicing lots it maybe might perhaps be a little tiny bit frustrating for you and I think if you can see the progress more readily then it can be really encouraging so maybe you can find another anime girls that is easier for you to learn at the moment and then you can come back to the other ones you like!

hurt my wrists but i'm back to working on piano now that they feel better. all the anison I've looked up notation for were way out of my level, so I guess I'll just stick to the ones in my books for now...
